Turkish Ski Holiday Launch!

We are excited to announce the launch of our project here at Turkish Ski Holiday! I initially conceived this idea 5 years ago after moving to Turkey from the USA. I’m a lifelong snowboarder, splitboarder, and Backcountry Guide, I started working at my local ski Hill in Pennsylvania when I was only 15 and have been passionate about the snow sports industry since! When I arrived in Turkey, in January of 2017, I set out to visit as many Ski areas in my new country as I could. My new home, a country that is 80% mountainous, did not disappoint. I was absolutely floored by the amount of and the quality of snow and mountains here in Turkey, but it was quiet. I rarely ran into tourists and every time I told my friends back in the US about what I was riding they were surprised. Most people didn’t know Turkey had mountains, let alone enough snow to ride and ski. That apparent lack of awareness is what sparked the flame for Turkish Ski Holiday.

Big mountains, consistent snowy winters, and price points that aren’t just competitive but downright surprising.

The Kaçkars

Turkey has all the ingredients for amazing winter sports travel. Big mountains, consistent snowy winters, and price points that aren’t just competitive but downright surprising. The most expensive ski pass in the entire country is around $20 for the day. Considering the local prices you can: fly to Turkey from the US or Europe, tour Istanbul for a week, travel to the mountains and stay a week, rent equipment, try local cuisine, and ride every day and it will cost less than a single week’s accommodation and ski pass at any major American resort.

My goal is to share this treasure trove with others like me, people passionate about winter sports who love traveling to new places, eating new foods and experiencing local culture. Turkey is a gem waiting to be discovered.

Come join us this season and be one of the first to experience its beauty!
